Descriptions:
We want to start this evidence with a question again: How do you judge whether a tree is alive or not? That is, if two people discuss whether a tree has life or not and one of them says, “This tree is alive” while the other says, “This tree is dead”, how do you decide which one is right?
We immediately look at the branches of the tree. If there are leaves, flowers, or fruits on its branches, we decree that the tree is alive. In that case, there is no need to examine the roots. For the life in the branches comes from the root. There will be no fruits and flowers on the branches of a tree that is dead.
That is, when the life of a tree is discussed, the fruits, flowers and leaves on the branches are evidences showing the life of the tree. And they confirm the person who claims that the tree is alive. In other words, they virtually say, “O the person who thinks our tree is dead! Do not you see our life? How would we exist if the tree did not have life as you claimed? Our existence and life is evidence for the life of our tree.”
In that case, listen carefully now: Hz. Muhammad (pbuh) is like a luminous tree. We are discussing about this luminous tree. While we claim that this tree has life, some claim that it is dead. The way to find out who is right is to look at the branches of this luminous tree. If there are fruits and flowers on its branches, it is evidence that the tree has life. If you deny the life of this luminous tree though there are fruits and flowers on their branches, all of the fruits and flowers on the branches will deny you with their lives and disgrace you.
There are millions of saints who reach the truth with the training and education of this person and who have karamahs. Millions of saints who enlightened the centuries they lived in like Abdulqadir Ghaylani, Shah Naqshbandi and Mawlana Khalid Baghdadi are hanging from the branch of this luminous tree. How can you deny these fruits and regard them as non-existent? All of these people reached the perfection and rank they have with the lesson and guidance of Muhammad (pbuh). That is, there are millions of saints on this branch of the luminous tree of the Prophet, called shajara al-Muhammadiyya. All the fruits on this branch witness the truthfulness of the Prophet, who is their master, with their perfection, and karamah.
Now, let us have a look at the second branch of this luminous tree: There are hundreds of thousands of fruits called scholars and pure people such as Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Shafii, Imam Malik, Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Imam Ghazali and Imam Rabbani. All of these scholars took lessons from the person that you deny; they became the stars of the centuries they lived in with the power of their knowledge and ideas. Their light enlightened not only the centuries they lived in but also the centuries after them; people found their way with their light. If you read the life of only one of these people, you will see the power of his knowledge and ideas, and you will admire him. Since you cannot deny even one of these people, how can you deny and overlook hundreds of thousands of fruits on this branch? How will you pretend not to see these people who are recorded in history with their knowledge and wisdom?
Now, let us have a look at the third branch of this luminous tree: There are the true ilms (sciences) of Islam on this branch. All the true Islamic sciences such as fiqh, creed, tafsir, hadith, and kalam emerged with the teaching and training of this person. It is necessary to spend a whole life in order to be a specialist in only one of these sciences. Even a whole life will not be enough in most cases. If Hz. Muhammad (pbuh) is not a prophet of Allah, how did these Islamic sciences, which are likes fruits of this branch, occur? Can such truthful sciences come out of a person who is not truthful? Is it possible for a person to find such sciences alone and be a resource in all of these sciences?
We showed only three branches of this luminous tree. This tree has more branches and millions of fruits on every branch. One branch of it includes the rules that provide the happiness of this life. Each decree is hanging from it like a flower. On this branch, there are hundreds of millions of believers (fruits) who attain this happiness by following these rules.
Another branch of this tree is the happiness in the hereafter. There are decrees that ensure the happiness of the hereafter on this branch. People with clean nature and sound conscience confirm the truthfulness of these decrees.
And there are many more branches and millions of fruits and flowers on every branch. If you want to deny the prophethood of this person, you must pluck all of the fruits and flowers on these branches.
Alas! Our hand cannot reach even a single fruit; how can we pluck millions of flowers and break branches?
We acted upon the example of tree in this evidence. Before completing this evidence, we want to repeat briefly what we have told with the example of seed. Besides, we should not forget that these are not just simple examples; they are binoculars that will bring the truth closer.
The discussion whether a seed is a seed of apple tree or an oleander tree may continue as long as the nucleus is not seen. That is, if the seed is not put in the ground and is left as it is, it may not be decided who is right.
If that seed is put in the ground and if it sprouts, grows and yields fruits and flowers, we no longer disagree about it and discuss the seed of which tree it is.
Similarly, Hz. Muhammad (pbuh) is also a seed. An Islamic tree came out of this seed. If we liken each century to a branch, this tree has 14 large branches; each branch has millions of fruits and flowers. Yes, each Companion, saint, pure person, truthful person, researcher and scholar is a fruit of this tree.
Thousands of saints and favorite people who attain the truth, perfection, karamahs, discoveries and observation by following Hz. Muhammad (pbuh) with his principles and education and by becoming subject to him are the fruits of this tree.
All Islamic sciences are the fruits of this tree.
All of the rules that ensure the happiness of life in the world and the hereafter are the flowers of this tree; and the believers who attain happiness by following these rules are the fruits of this tree.
This tree has many more branches and millions of flowers and fruits.
If the prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh) is to be denied, the religion of Islam originating from this seed and the fruits of this seed must be denied first.
If anyone wishes to attack Hz. Muhammad (pbuh), who is like the seed of this tree, each of the fruits of this tree will say to him in their own language: “O impertinent person! What right do you have to attack our seed? Look at us! If our seed were rotten, could we be alive like this? Our life comes from it. If you want to deny our seed, which is the cause of the life given to us, you need to use your power on us first and overshadow our perfection. Neither you nor anyone else has the right to do it.”
